making progress....

I am thinking I am ready to use the "fabric" I created....

I have "auditioned" some fabric with it....
this is from my stash (I did not realized when I started painting my fabric how I trended towards these colors years ago)
I think this was a Hoffman Challenge fabric years ago.... isn't it great!

I have an idea to make a bag out of all of this but, I am thinking on whether or not I am going to draft a pattern or just cut and sew. I need a new "purse" to carry all my stuff in.

One of the other things I am working on is The Artist Way, I am taking longer than the book says but,  I think you need to self pace yourself when  you do these things.  Terah at cowgirlred ask me if I could share my journey so, I am going to try and do that... let me get my thoughts together and in the next few days I will start sharing....

Well, my sewing room is calling me... I am going to pour myself another glass of Three Blind Moose Cabernet Sauvignon and cut some fabric up.... or watch American Idol.... Thanks for looking!!

  1. Oh I've done Artist's Way a couple of times now. Such a good book!

I can't believe you painted all those fabrics! You are very talented. I'd love to see some pictures of how you do this. :)

  2. Oh no Rita, I only painted the paisley one I have been showing... The others are from my stash of commercial fabrics. I am going to use those with my painted fabric. I wish I could design a fabric line....

  3. Oh--okay! I just misunderstood you. You probably explained before, but I am new to your blog. Sorry. :)

  4. Oh Rita.. Don't apologize... That was a nice compliment to me :). Thanks for coming to my blog :)

  5. Absolutely beautiful! And I love seeing some of your stash. I've always really loved paisley. Regarding the Artists way, I revisit it frequently. It is so inspiring and empowering. The 2 things that have stuck with me now are the morning pages and the artist dates. And I have the audio book on my iPod it was recorded by Julia herself, I listened to it while I was sewing last fall.

  6. What a fun blog you have...came over via Flickr.....I am so intrigued with your painting of the fabric...I think it's turning out so pretty! Oh....and I have to tell you....I have that exact same fabric in your last pic....Love that fabric !
