Finshed new journal

First, I have uploaded a picture of the sky as a storm was waiting to come in....  I thought the colors were beautiful.... I have been in my sewing room all day today.  I started off adding some "thread" painting to my rose which I think made it look much better. I then turned it into my new journal.  The rose is the front of my journal and a drawing I did of my horse using paintstick oils is on the back.  I  then used some of my bright
quilting fabrics that I have had for ever to make the inside of the journal.  When my kids were in school I would buy binder paper on sale and I must say I have quite a bit left over.... my youngest has been out of high school for 2 years now and they don't use binders with binder paper in college.... I will use it up in a journal or two...  I had fun just creating and making the journal as I went with no plans.  After I finished my journal, I started making new sheer curtains for my master bathroom.  After 16 years in our house we have been doing some updating.
I finished the sheers and now I need to do the next step.  For the next step I am making it up as I go along sort of.  I had an idea for  a way to hang a curtain over the windows, I've made the elements and now I need to assemble.  I will take a picture of the finished project when completed....

Another journal working on...

I have been working on another journal... this one is for drawing in... doodling, random thoughts, to do's and quotes.  I decided to break it up into chapters. Of course I had completed a page and than thought of that so one page is not in a "chapter".  I need to fill in some more on the page I consider a "title" page I guess you would call it and then also on the page I would consider a "chapter" page.  Well.... a little on groggy side, time for bed need to get up at 545am.... another fun day at work!

Making a new journal

When I was gone a few weeks ago, I took a bag with me that had a journal my daughter gave me.  Some how the bag disappeared out of my sister's car.  It had a lot of other things too...  So, I am in the process of making a journal of my own, using canvas and fabrics that I have.  I just started it tonight so I have not gotten to far yet.  The rose is the cover.  I think that I am going to do some thread painting on the rose... I hope I am not to tired from work tomorrow, I would really like to work on it when I get home.

completed collage...

I finished my collage/journal page using elements from the crowabout flickr group... I left my thoughts unfinished on the page thinking I am not sure if I should express them as they are not positive thoughts... issues are always a pain in the you know what...

When I had to go on my trip someone took my bag with my writing journal, drawing tools, magazines, my book True Visions my journal I have been doing my collages in. Needless to say I wasn't very happy about that.  I am so glad that I have scanned in my pages that I worked on or have the digital ones on my computer.

working on a collage...

I haven't had a chance to get on line this past week... my Dad had a stroke and I had to fly to California to see him.  I am working on a collage for crowabout week 28.  I am getting close to being finished...  I am trying to figure out if I want to add a little more images along with trying to figure out what I am going to journal about.

Well, I will contemplate this overnight as I have been up since 4am and I have to go lock up the barn....

as the days pass by....

As the days have past by since I was able to write on my blog... I took one of my fat quarters that I have had for probably 10 years now and created a credit card holder, money holder, case for my sunglasses and a  mini folder to carry miscellaneous papers in my purse.  I had a great day of just making up stuff as I went a long in my sewing room.  As the days have past by my oldest daughter turned 23, it goes by so fast. We had a dinner for her and waited a bit for her arrival home as she went snow boarding with a friend and they got lost on the back side of the mountain.  Ski Patrol had to assist on helping them find there way.... As the week comes to the end I received news that my Dad had a stroke. I did get to talk with him tonight... said Hi to him.  I live in a different state so I am making plans to travel to see him....  It is amazing how quickly things change in your life.....
