time flies....

Time sure does go by fast.... I have created a collage for crowabout that I did digitally.  It was a challenge for me this time.  I didn't quite know how I wanted to use the elements from the challeng sheet.  I think it came out pretty good.  There are quite a few talented people in the group.  It always amazes me how everyone does such great things each week.

It's the weekend....

I was looking so forward to this weekend... sleeping in... relaxing.... wow, wake up at 6:30am after not being able to fall asleep until probably 1:30am.  I can never sleep in on a weekend. Oh well!  I did complete a collage for crowabout this weekend. Missed the deadline to submit but that's okay.  I like how it came out.  I even used a picture of myself from when I was oh so young!
I am also working on making myself a case to carry my sunglasses in out of canvas.  I have drawn a picture of a horse (of course) on it with oil paint sticks. I hope they are dry tomorrow to ad details, quilt and stitch together. I am also working on some new curtains for my bathroom that I have been re-doing.  I am trying to get myself motivated into sewing/quilting more but, I am having a hard time.  I have a block for some reason and I need to figure out why.  My goal this next week is to really focus on being creative some how every day this next week. I feel much better about things, more relaxed....

Monday, Monday...

I suppose everyone has a "Monday"?  Mine was today... on Monday.  There was a time when I worked a shift that was Saturday through Wednesday so my "Monday" was Saturday... anyway.... my day started at 4:15am to be a work at 5:00am. It's now 11:15pm and I am still awake!  At this beginning of the week... I think I am waiting for the weekend again... this past weekend was very busy!

My oldest daughter was involved in the Special Olympics this past week that was held where I live in Boise, Idaho.  She was an ambassador for a family for Michigan whose daughter was an Olympian athlete - Heather -  and she filmed some of the races.  This family was so nice... Lori, Chris and their daughter Shannon.  We did not get to meet Heather, she stayed with her coaches. They were kind enough to give us tickets to the closing ceremony which was great to be at.  Quite the experience.

That's how my Friday started.... Saturday I worked on my bathroom - sponge painted on top of my base color...  had a bit of an accident.  I was standing on the bathroom counter painting and went to step down on my step stool and missed! I thought I may have broken my need the way it cracked!  My elbow has a nice bruise, along with my hip and then there is my shoulder, neck and back ache!  Wow.... I don't bend at 50 as well as I did at 30 or even 40! oh well I am still breathing!

Saturday night we went to a BSU basketball game where we beat 17 rank Utah!It was a great game!!!!!! Go Bronco's!!!!  Finally on Sunday I finished the bathroom. It came out great but boy am I sick of painting! (at least bathroom walls). I am going to try and get with my Mom this next weekend... she is going to teach me some techniques with using acrylic paints... I have been trying on my own but I think I need help.

In closing... I should go to bed but, I just bought Pirates of the Caribbean at World's End and I think I may have to watch it... they are my favorite movies... as Captain Jack Sparrow says:  "take what you can and give nothing back".  I really have to get Tombstone on DVD to watch while I am on the computer....  my all time favorite!  Adios!

half way through the week

I have been working for a few days on a journal page that has some of the elements from the Crowabout collage group I am in and it is also being creative almost everyday.  I have been trying to focus on words and doing some writing in a journal.  This collage brought out some thoughts about life and times in the past which is alright.  One of the other things I have been working on is redoing my master bathroom... 16 years of one wallpaper is enough to drive you crazy.  It's all been stripped and painted, just have to add some texture to the walls with sponge  technique.  I just have one more bathroom to redo that has wallpaper....

This past weekend...

This past weekend I found time to do a few things... work a little overtime, watch the Superbowl and try my hand at painting with acrylics. I am trying to teach myself. This is my horse Tex... I know I have a lot to learn. I am trying to find a good book that will help... This month in CED the theme is words, my word when I was inspired was "horse". I love my horse and pony. There is something about riding in the foothills and stopping on a ridge and looking over the valley. You forget about the stresses of life and truly have an enjoyable moment not worrying about anything. I dreamed of owning a horse since I was 9 years old and got my first one at 38. I learned to ride English and do dressage. I liked it very much and found it very challenging. I am hoping to find more time to ride with the days getting a little longer and a little warmer (ha ha it was 19 this morning). It will be spring soon I hope!
