Quilt and a new tangle...

When my job gets crazy it seems to change everything I do because it drains me. I think since be fore Easter. I have been working on the quilt for my sister in law, everything went haywire at work last week (worked to much over time,... I walked in the Race For The Cure and worked on a new tangle that I am try to make into a repeat design.

Here is the quilt I have been working on the  for my sister-in-law:

I have started playing around with a new tangle and repeat design which is brought to you by the letters A, L and V:

I have added more to the design:

I have been better this week so far about not staying late at work, that's why I got a little further on my drawing above... well... time to run to work!

Thanks for looking!

  1. What a beautiful quilt!
The repeat design is interesting. Are you planning to use it on fabric or something? That would be pretty. :)
I hope work settles down for you.

  2. Visiting you from A Kat Eye View -- I've never heard nor seen anything like your letter creations. Just amazing. Curious as to what your plans are for these? Have a great weekend!

  4. I see the A and the V, but where's the L?
And that quilt is really coming together beautifully!
Is it for Jeff's Sister? (I didn't remember he had one).

  5. Hey Karen,
I just noticed something in the picture of the quilt.
Did you notice (or do on purpose) that you have a lighter and darker grey running through the centers and that they're sporatic? Because I see that if the dark grey were all on one side that it would look like the big squares on point were engraved with the shadow of the dark grey on one side. I don't know if that's something that would be visible when upclose to the quilt or if it's just because of the distance of the picture.
...you know me, always an opinion!

  6. You're right Deb, I actually changed it around in the center. The fabrics are actually purples, I need to get better lighting in there to take a picture. I have not bought anything new so far, it is all out of my stash. It's for Jeff's middle sister, it's a surprise.
