Crazy Night - Lightening Strike Fire
I don't have a drawing tonight but wow what a night! I was at work and our site director and sr manager was trying to get a hold of me late in the day at work because they heard about a fire that had started and knew where I lived. I left work, couldn't get to my house because they closed the roads. It is a wired feeling when you don't know how close a fire is to your house, you can't get to your house, your husband, one daughter, two dogs, one cat and my pony are there... and the sheriff won't let you up the road to get there. I got PO'd and parked my car along the road and I sneaked past the sheriff... Now mind you my house is about a mile away and started walking.... It is scary when it's hot out, the wind is blowing and a fire is traveling east towards your house. The sheriff let a gal drive up the road to get her animals and she gave me a ride to the top of the road into where I live and a neighbor was on his four wheeler and started to give me a ride towards my house. My daughter was driving down the road and picked me up... we live on 5 acres and everything is spread out hence the long walk. Then I find out that the fire is near a family we know.... we can't get out now cuz if we do we can't get back in because they are evacuating... the fire is west about a mile to two... and they live maybe a 1/4 a mile away if that from the fire.... Another friend just sold their house that was on top of the hill from the other friends and it burnt down... just a crazy night... 3 houses burned, 2 totally down not sure on the 3rd... a very sad night. I feel bad for them, your mind start racing to figure out what to grab. We were lucky that they finally got it contained. This fire traveled aways and we were lucky that they were able to contain it. Hopefully the thunder storm they talked about coming through and the winds doesn't happen. It's calm right now but as they say it could be the calm before the storm. People have their homes, family, dogs, cats, horses, cattle to worry about... it is not a good feeling. I am glad no one was hurt. Sorry to ramble but just an unsettling feeling....

zentangle #30 - take a look inside
I have found that my zentangle drawings are a way of thinking and reflecting about life... reflecting about things going on daily and things in the past. Even though I may not write a lot this is a journal for me. I have a journal to write in but, have not been consistent... I think that drawing is the right thing for me right now. I did do something for myself today... I took a quilting class to learn how to use a long arm. Ummm I need to schedule some quilting time now at the shop I took it at. It was fun, I will have to take a photo of the practice quilt top I quilted. Thanks for looking!

Zentangle - 29 paisley thoughts…
This drawing took me quite a few days to complete. When I look back at my drawings… the ones posted and not I have one common element - paisleys. I have always loved paisleys for some reason. When I owned my quilt shop, I always purchased paisley fabrics, bought them when I was younger…. Tonight I finished my drawing sitting on my hammock. A lot of things running through my mind like… here we go with another mammogram. Had one last week and I have been called in for a second. It's happen before a few years ago and nothing was wrong just that I drink too much coffee (which I still do) maybe it will be the same thing. Was trying to post this last night but our internet was down (getting to be a problem) Just got back and the spot they found was nothing Yeah! Well, thanks for looking!

zentangle #28 - flowers
Zentangle #28 - Flowers
I have been thinking about flowers a lot these days... I need to plant some in my yard... they are beautiful, colorful and they brighten your day. I am amazed and how long these take me to draw... I go into a zone... think about life.... sometimes I think I would like to quite my job (don't most people) get rid of the stress... think about my kids, my husband, my animals... I think I need to go work on a sewing project (which I used to be obsessed with)... I think I am going to go down to my sewing room and finish my goofy project I am working on... maybe I will take a picture... Have a great day and thanks for looking!

zentangle #27.... for my horse
This past week was hard... on Wednesday I had to put my horse down.... he had cancer.... His name was Tex....
This my second horse... there is something about getting on a horse and going for a ride... it's freedom. Eventually I will get another but for now I have my memories..... Thanks for looking...
He was a big boy... 16.2 hands and very gentle...
I still have my pony who in the picture with Tex...
This is my zentangle with a quote: "Nothing is more sacred as the bond between a horse and rider. No other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the memory lives on, because an enormous part of his owner's heart, sould and the very existence dies also" Stephanie M Thorn
