this month went by...

This month went by fast.... it was hot (which I love) and I found myself outside more then in (except when at work) I have started working on another painting... this one is the GTO emblem on the front of our car.... I am hoping my pencil marks from drawing on the canvas will cover up some what with the paint. I think they are to dark.... Need to find more info on what type of lead to use like HB H etc... I think it will be okay. I was going to paint to night but didn't feel like it, pretty warm outside 92 degrees.... I love the heat... in probably eight weeks or so it will be Halloween and it will probably snow....

I finished my first picture of a series I am doing for the "Man" cave bathroom. I am pretty pleased with how it came out.... every time I worked on it I thought I was getting better? The next one I am going to do is the Pontiac emblem on our 65 GTO.... I think that I need to start with the background first this time.... not sure if there is a right way or wrong way but I am going to treat it kinda of like how I do my quilting.... forget the rules and have fun!

Crowabout week 44 "Parlor Game"

I started off with a picture I took of the moon which was fuzzy, using Corel Paint shop pro I added a bubble effect to the picture and then started pulling colors from the Crowabout elements from Nancy color filled the bubbles.... I then created the second layer of the strips and tried to make them look like they are floating. I then started adding elements from week 44 and used some from prior weeks....

Working on a new painting...

I am working on a new painting... We had our car in a show on the 4Th of July so while walking around looking at the other cars, I took pictures cars, grills, doors etc... I am now painting a "collection" that will hang in the "man" cave bathroom. This is the beginning of the painting... again just learning by trial and error. If anyone reads this and paints with acrylics.... do you know of a good reference book?

With so much going on lately I have not participated in the flickr group I am in.... I finally had time to do week 43.... Life is a fairytale... and they are the best of times...

It is therapeutic to do art.... I am on vacation for a week from work and really don't want to go back... I guess I could buy a lottery ticket and hope to win but, you know how that would go...

I bought 4 canvas's to start some paintings of classic car logos... I am excited to start the project. They are going to end up in believe it or not a bathroom that is in what we call the "man" cave. It still has a pinkish counter top from when it was our girls bathroom, going to experiment and paint it... has anyone ever painted Formica? Hints would be helpful.....

It was fun to get the car out, survived the 95 degree weather... great way to start a week off from work!

Been a while....

It has been a while since I have been on... My Dad has been in the hospital... went to California to see him.. He was on life support for two weeks, luckily off now and in a transitional assisted living place from the hospital to get stronger.... wow... Last week worked on my horse picture again... it has been going through some transitions.... learning a lot on how to paint. I went from this...

to this.....

I think I am done.... I like how it has turned out. I am ready to start another one....
