zentangle #35
I have been working on this for a bit.... just finished tonight...
I incorporated the use of watercolors along with the markers and colored pencils. Did some journaling too. I sometimes go through my book that I have my drawings in and can't believe how much these have evolved. I have aquired a few books now on visual journaling which are great but I didn't realize how much my so called zentangles are my visual journal... well time to hit the bed for another day tomorrow. Thanks for looking and have a great one! p.s. another silling drawing:

I finished my box, did these two drawings, finished ripping out the stitching on my daughters quilt and requilted it (now need to bind) and have a new zentangle drawing almost completed. It is amazing how much time I have when I am not working overtime for my job.... well thanks for looking.... have a great day!

recycling... transformation of a cardboard box and silliness...
For my birthday this year a received a nano ipod from my husband (yeah!). It a a glitch so I had to send it into Apple and they shipped it back to me in this box:
I then decided to paint the outside of the box... I started with an orange then used green and then ended up with this...
I used some masking fluid and masking tape to create some of the, the not sure what you would call it "texture" and now I am using my pens to draw around the circles... It is not complete yet, will keep on working on it.
The silliness part, I am taking an on-line class from Carol Sonheim called The Art of Silliness 2. She sent us a test page and this is what I did and the story I wrote:
So, I decided to see if I could turn it into a box that I could either put some of my do-dads in or even use it at work for paperclips, pens or post it note pads. I began to cover it with pages from books that I have from using the covers for journals....
on the inside I added background papers I created using the same kind of book pages...

I am looking forward to some silliness as it should relieve the stresses of work or may me forget about it. Well, thanks for looking!

Zentangle #34 and some new books....
Here is my zentangle #34....
I have almost completed a zentangle for each week of the year. We are in week 36 of the year. I had been thinking about that for some reason. I sometimes think they take so long but there aren't any time limits and I enjoy the process...
I also splurged this weekend on some books and a magazine... I didn't mean to but I couldn't help myself! My daugther's had to go to a wedding on Saturday and I had to drive them due to having their wisdom teeth pulled so I went to Borders while they were there... ummm two books and a magazine later. One is The Journal Junkies Workshop by Eric M. Scott and David R. Modler. I have been following Eric Scott's blog for a while and was excited when their book came out. I have looked through and read the dedication and forward... that in itself was heartfelt. My next book that I am excited to own is Journal Spilling by Diana Trout. I also follow her blog Diana Trout and love her work. I have looked through this book too... and my magazine, the recent edition of Studios by Cloth, Paper Scissors. I actually wasn't going to get this until I saw Seth Apter's post on his blog with his pictures of his studio. I had to have it too...
Well.... today is going to be busy, have about 20 people coming over to watch football... Go BSU!!!! first game of the season and the start of our weekly parties. Happy Labor Day! and thanks for looking.
