This is a comb post of day 4 and 5 of AEDM... progress on the stamp on Friday:

By the time the night was over I almost had the middle done. |

Also took a picture.... |
Today I pretty much was in my room with the exception of the time it took me to vacuum my kitchen floors. I was able to finish the stamp and see what it looked liked. The first time I tried the stamp out I used acrylic paint (the red one) and the second time was with a stamp pad. I outlined one of each in black and then the other two without. I like how both turned out, each has a different look. I do enjoy carving stamps, I have a few that I have done now. I think the next time I am going to use linoleum. I have a small block have just not tried it yet. When I was cleaning the stamp off I saw a hawk taking a bath on our swimming pool cover. We actually got a mix of rain and snow last night. That water had t be freezing but he didn't care.
Well thanks for looking and stopping by!
Stopping by from AEDM. Very impressed by your stamp!!!!! I also like your photo of the hawk -- so cool!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteYour stamp is quite intricate and beautiful! I've never carved a stamp but I have a stamp carving set and a piece of linoleum so maybe one day I'll pluck up the courage to give it a go. I think I'll start with a very simple one though.
I love the pic of the hawk!!
Happy AEDM,
Serena
Love the hawk! He looks quite content. Or she--LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think I even like the outlined in black ones better because of the nice contrast. Especially with the green one. The saying is fantastic! That was a lot of work. Great job. :)
Lovely work!
ReplyDeletewow, super intricate carving!
ReplyDeleteThe stamp looks great. I really want to try carving stamps, but there is so many things I would like to try, and so little time... but someday I will!
ReplyDeleteYou're bave to try linoleum next! This stamp turned out great, I just made my first stamp and I think I'm hooked. I'm going to go see if I can find your other stamps.
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little hawk. I suppose when you're wild a cold bath doesn't seem so bad, it's us pampered creatures that shrivel up thinking about it!
Great looking stamp! I love to carve stamps. Last year I took a print class and was able to put my lino blocks into a printing press and make stationary with them. It was really exciting. I don't live close enough to the print studio to do this very often, but I still love to use stamps on just about anything. Have fun. Love your blog - will follow! Thanks for your kind encouragement and congrats on publication to you too!
ReplyDeleteVisiting via AED.... Nice stamp! This is something I've not tried yet.... seems a bit scary to me, but I love your results. You may have inspired me to give it a try! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for stopping by!
