What to do with my collection of....

I have this great collection of ATC's from my gal pals Flygirls Artist Trading card group and from participating in Liberate Your Art postcard trade (Look for the button on my page). What to do with them all to show case them.... First I am going to take one of these composition books....

and take all of my ATC cards and postcards from Liberate Your Art trade....

And start preparing the composition book to show all my wonderful cards. Of course when you begin to create, you just have to let it flow.... I have started to prepare some  pages so I will have more to show. I should let you know... that I work on many things at once so I may show other projects in progress....

Thanks for stopping by and looking....

My July ATC cards for my Flytribe group, Barbie and Skipper

I have been on vacation so it give me time to do art... One thing about magazines is looking back on older issues and finding something you want to try. I was looking at my Cloth, Paper, Scissors issue from September/October 2010 and there was an article about making your own stamps for faux silkscreen so I thought I would give it a try doing my July Flygirls ATC.

Here is my butterfly drawn on a craft foam sheet...

I then cut it out into separate pieces....

(I should of taken some more pictures of the stamping process) Here are the butterflies after I stamped them and painted them and added some detail. I need to buy some more stamps because I had old ones and had to had a little paint to them....

I then did some echo stitching on them....

And then the finished card....

Ready to send in the trade...

One of my favorite blogs is Jamie Fingal Designs - she has fun quilts and her Barbies help her out... I had told her one day I needed to get mine out and here they are... Barbie ans Skipper from the 60's (they were mine that I played with).

I am going to try the foam stamp process again but use a stylist instead of an ink pen to make the indentations, get some more stamps and make sure when I stamp I leave a little space in between. It was fun to bring my Barbie and Skipper out, my sister and friends used to play for hours with them in our backyard making a town. Skipper's dress was crocheted by my Grandma... good memories.

Well, thanks for stopping by and looking. Hope you have a great day!

June ATC Cards for my Flygirls group...

I got my cards done for my Flygirl ATC June trade... the theme was Mellow Yellow:

I painted a background on an old book page and then drew my design.

I cut it in to four cards...

My idea was the sun....
Yellow has always been a bit of a challenge for me but, I think I am getting a bit better at using the color. It is growing on me.

Well that is it for now... In a few days I will do an update on my latest zentangle...

As always, thanks for stopping by.

Flygirls ATC's for February....

I finished my February ATC's for my Flygirls ATC trade...

Here is a new book that I got that I am very excited about....

I cannot wait to see what I get in the mail... I really like how they turned out. I am very excited about this book I purchased. I have always wanted to design fabric and now with sites like Spoonflower I think that I am going to develop some of my designs at have them printed up. I have so many ideas.... I wish I had the energy to stay up late every night to work on my ideas.

Well time to call it a night, thanks for stopping by!

Flygirls ATC's one's received and one's to send

I received my wonder ATC's from my Flygirls... Our theme for January was Dream...

This wonderful card is by Helen Naylor

This wonderful card is by Melissa Combs

This wonderful card is by Deborah Eaton

I am working on my February ones... the theme is Love...

And a couple of photos....

For my February ATC's I am painting on cotton fabric. The first one I finished I did some embroidery work on it. I used my watercolor crayons to paint the background. On the finished on I have also used my Inktense pencils... more to come on the ATC's.  Everyday I drive by this tree at the top of my road and finally I stopped and took a picture.... it looks like a heart to me. I also then have to mess around with it with an adjustment layer playing with the "curves". I like how it turned out.

More updates to come later this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Flygirls ATC's and snow....

I got my ATC done for a January trade a bit late.... here they are:

and then there was snow...

The theme for our group this month was Dream... Doing ATC's are new for me, I love the challenge it makes you stretch. This next month is Love and I need to get busy on them because they are due here in a few weeks, can you believe in a few weeks it is going to be February.

We finally got our first snow fall. Typically it doesn't snow down here in the valley but in the mountains close buy it does but even the mountains have not had any snow. The ski resort might get to open in a few days now....  I know it wasn't a lot of snow to move but, to have my driveway cleared off is nice. This is the first year we have had a tractor and for 19 years we have shoveled this driveway by hand, I am now doing the happy dance because I didn't have to do that! Yippy!

In a few days I am hoping to post about a couple new projects I am starting... one is making a screen (sort of speak) to block the downstairs entrance from the dogs and I am making a pattern out of an old button down shirt I love and hope to show you how you can take a garment you love and make a pattern out of it.

For now, it's time to close and go to bed... thanks for stopping by and looking...
