Breaking away from overtime work.... Blog Hop...

I feel like I have been gone, gone from my art, my blog.... I have a new position at work and have been working way way to much overtime - learning curve we will call it... But, I did get a reminder when I was checking out my groups Facebook page about our next blog hop. I then remembered I did take a photo a while back.... it is a blog hop of shoe shots. Now yes I know it is the first day of spring tomorrow but, I took this a few weeks ago and tomorrow we are supposed to wake up to the same thing:

Yes, we are to get snow... Last week I had to travel to Tulsa for work and it was in the 80's, got a nice task of summer and come back home to cold weather... I may be wearing my snow boots tomorrow and not my nice new wedge sandals. Come and check out some more Shoe Shots - on the Flytribe Blog Hop!

Thanks for stopping by and I will try and get back into posting more frequently again and not let work consume my time...

where have I been...

I must say that work has eaten me up alive lately, I haven't had much time for nothing but... I am trying to change that and not let it consume me. In the past few weeks I have managed to work on my screen....

The other night I did get a chance to change it up... I didn't like the pink and purple bit I did on the side so, I am changing it to yellow and something? May change again but, so far I like it and yellow is not a usual color I use as it is not one of my favorites.

Well, thanks for stopping by and looking... must head off to work. Have a fabulous day!

ATC cards... making pages for a book....

I have been working on making pages to mount my ATC cards on...

As I make the background pages I am going to mount the cards one the page using old fashion photo corners. As I work on the pages I am going to store them in my "cowboy" tin box (it's in the background) and when I am done with this years collection I will bind it all together into a book. I am waiting to get my February cards in the mail.... as soon as I do I will post a picture.

Thanks for stopping by! Will be checking in again soon with an update on my "screen"...

Progress on my screen...

I have been trying to squeeze in time on painting on my screen.... In the past couple of weeks in has progressed:

Every time I work on painting something I teach myself how to do a technique... thank goodness for books to go by when I don't know how to do something. I tried this gel medium with fiber in it on the flowers. I bought some new paint brushes that help blend better... I know my pictures not the best.... one day I will be able to take one in better light. Ha! Anyway... I love how it is turning out and I hope to be done soon....

Well thanks for stopping by and looking! Off to bed...

Flygirls ATC's for February....

I finished my February ATC's for my Flygirls ATC trade...

Here is a new book that I got that I am very excited about....

I cannot wait to see what I get in the mail... I really like how they turned out. I am very excited about this book I purchased. I have always wanted to design fabric and now with sites like Spoonflower I think that I am going to develop some of my designs at have them printed up. I have so many ideas.... I wish I had the energy to stay up late every night to work on my ideas.

Well time to call it a night, thanks for stopping by!

Flygirls ATC's one's received and one's to send

I received my wonder ATC's from my Flygirls... Our theme for January was Dream...

This wonderful card is by Helen Naylor

This wonderful card is by Melissa Combs

This wonderful card is by Deborah Eaton

I am working on my February ones... the theme is Love...

And a couple of photos....

For my February ATC's I am painting on cotton fabric. The first one I finished I did some embroidery work on it. I used my watercolor crayons to paint the background. On the finished on I have also used my Inktense pencils... more to come on the ATC's.  Everyday I drive by this tree at the top of my road and finally I stopped and took a picture.... it looks like a heart to me. I also then have to mess around with it with an adjustment layer playing with the "curves". I like how it turned out.

More updates to come later this week. Thanks for stopping by!

here is another project....

Oh yes, you can never have one project at a time and here is another one I have going...

What is this you ask... well this is going to turn into a screen to block the entrance to my downstairs. I have a dog name Emmett who sometimes has '"accidents" downstairs and I don't want him to go down there anymore without me. I have this ugly old gate thing across there now and he is petrified of it because it has fallen down. I don't what a child's gate so, I decided I am going to make a screen, paint it with artwork (maybe a zentangle or paisley or two or both haven't decided). Now I like to use power tools so I got out the skill saw, measured and cut on the back of my truck. Now the next steps are to gesso the boards. More to come on this project.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting!
